Green Velvet aka Cajmere has made some classics in his time, like such golden all time faves as ‘Percolator’, ‘La La Land’, ‘Shake And Pop’ and the hilarious ‘Answering Machine’. Green Velvet was originally his pseudo for his dj gigs and non-vocal productions. He’s also behind the seminal Cajual & Relief records with releases by DJ Sneak, Paul Johnson, Derrick Carter and so on. And he had hair out of this world, but not anymore as green spikes may not be the coolest choice in 2009. Here’s his latest release on Cajual (I strongly recommend the 12″ as it has 2 DJ Gant-Man mixes too!).
