If there was a definition for an uplifting disco / boogie song on the encyclopedia it would be Patrice Rushen’s I Was Tired Of Being Alone. This 12″ has been in my record bag for whole summer, perfect for getting the dance floor moving.
Top Billin welcomes Fex Fellini, a great German who makes excellent house with a tech twist plus some added world elements. If you liked the Joyce Muniz & Shanti Roots – ‘Get Your Conga On’ ep earlier this year, you’re gonna love Fex’s debut out soon on Top Billin. Because we ain’t all about crazy bangers you know. Listen to the ep below and leave a comment for him. Promos are leaving as we speak.
If you haven’t already spotted this mix at the new DJ’s Delight, go ahead and listen to it here. I guarantee that you won’t be disappointed; selection which includes lots of subgenres and stuff from the mid-70s all the way to the 90s. Five thumbs up.
Check this out, just joined Soundcloud and recorded a little mix to put something in there. It’s also a good taster of what’s happening saturday afternoon at Flow Festival this week. I’m thinking about posting some old mixtapes as well, so you might wanna check back later… Enjoy.

You might know Spox, he’s a Top Billin knight and a talented guy from Poland. He’s been making a lot of tunes lately and compiled a mix of only ‘Spox masterial’. Here’s what Spoxxy wrote:
The idea behind the mix is to showcase some of the original music, as well as remixes, I did this year. All of them, apart from the few original samples, were produced by me. There are only few DJs in Poland who are producers at the same time. As far as I know, this truly might be the first producer mix in Poland, melting together Electro, UK Funky, Bass, Dubstep or Dirty Disco. The number of genres adds to the ‘party’ vibe of the mix.
Hope you enjoy it and pass it on to your friends and further.
Thanks.
Get the mix and see the tracklisting after the jump.
Hey, what’s up? We left with DJ Pushups to the Sharkslayer Australian / New Zealand tour on Tuesday, made a 25 hours travelling but finally arrived to Perth 02:00 at night. Looks like a pretty decent place, we’ll update some nice footage and tour stories as we get everything in order here. Nights: +6 degrees. Days: +20 degress.
Had to say that last night at Club Colors in Gothenburg was one of the funnest gigs in a long time. Colors is dope, boogie, disco, rap & good club music rules the night (we did drop some dubstep hits in the last half an hour tho). Mayer Hawthorne also delivered a solid live performance on the night and is a lovable guy just like his music. Looking forward to the next gig there with our man DJ Dainja (shouts also to Gothenburg homies Supreme & Embee of Looptroop Rockers fame). Posting here a golden tune from yesterday, I’m wondering why I haven’t shared this earlier.
Prince has said he thinks the era of the internet is already over.
In an interview with The Daily Mirror, the singer said his stance on technology is the main reason why his new album ‘20Ten’ will not be available for download online.
“The internet’s completely over,” he explained. “I don’t see why I should give my new music to iTunes or anyone else. They won’t pay me an advance for it, and then they get angry when they can’t get it.”
Prince is giving ‘20Ten’ away with the Daily Mirror and Daily Record, in a similar move to that of his 2007 album ‘Planet Earth’.
Speaking about why he shuns technology, he added: “The internet’s like MTV. At one time MTV was hip and suddenly it became outdated. Anyway, all these computers and digital gadgets are no good. They just fill your head with numbers, and that can’t be good for you.” (via NME)
Do you know DJ Morsy? If you dj I’m pretty sure you have his edits, many of them are essential and truly crafted for the dj mind, so he’s a familiar character to many. Here’s a recent remix of a feel-good pop song (goes well with B.O.B.’s ‘Nothing On You’ yo dj….) from him and you can expect an ep from Morsy & Krames dropping soon on the label… Club beats meet dutch house styles with big basses.
Enter Chauffeur aka Thom Theroux from Calgary, Canada. Thom is our man who can make crazy party tunes that will twist your ears, and at the same time have that pop sensibility we love in dance music. This is Chauffeurs debut ep so listen closely.
This 5-track ep, with tracks that range from twisted disco to speaker bruising rave to bass heavy pop, is definitely a rare piece of work for a first release. Fresh in a way when people started to talk about this genre called ‘electro bangers’ (whatever that means). Dark and grimey like the alleys of major cities, the unexpected lurking around the corner.

“Oh man.. This is like driving 200mph down the Miami state freeway knocking down alligators and cops” – Drop The Lime
There’s practically no night here now that the day is longest, difficult to go to bed when it’s light everywhere. Parties during summer are also funny, it’s light when you both enter and exit the club.

Introducing: Yves Rockers Crew. Well, sort of introducing as Yves Rockers is disco project of our friend and a long-time Top Billin associate DJ Pataässä, who’s made some nice party breaks (Sweat Gunz anyone) and remixes with us in the past. His new project is a dope indie-discoish thing with a rock feel and nice vocals. He’s also a man with great sense on humour, so this no straight-laced project either, so expect more fun disco with that pop sensibility.
Remixes on this ep come from bass-masters Malente & Jay Robinson, Belgium’s wonderboy Highbloo and Top Billin newest signing, the young Emperatrons. A dub version of the original is also included for you who don’t dig vocal stuff.
I’ve done pretty much nothing else today but watch football. But you’ll enjoy the hell out of this on Monday, it’s one of those jams where you actually love the electric guitar part. Btw, check new release going live soon….
Time for another release in our ‘Nightrunners’ -series and it’s one monster house ep! Koobra is the other half of Helsinki 78-82 and a long-time Top Billin associate and he also brings us ‘that big city house’ -feel with his solo. This whole release came as a (pleasant) suprise to us, we were not aware that he would have time to finish all the tunes just before summer holidays, but there we have it.
‘Thrills’ is a smooth French styled house groover while ‘It’s You’ is a total vocal hit with some pumping production, and ‘Question’ is a more italo filled affair… 3 tracks on this release, all great, all needed for your summers dj sets.
CHECK IT AT THESE SHOPS AND PLS SHOW SUPPORT (all hail) TO KOOBRA.
